Australian Judge: Facebook valid channel for serving legal documents

From the Associated Press:

The Australian Capital Territory Supreme Court last Friday approved lawyer Mark McCormack’s application to use Facebook to serve the legally binding documents after several failed attempts to contact the couple at the house and by e-mail.

facebook_standardFacebook might  be increasingly (and officially) recognised as a valid (legal) communications medium. Along with Google, is Facebook replacing the White Pages as the go-to source for locating someone?
